Does Madame Web have a post-credits scene?
Superhero movies have become known to have post-credit scenes. So, you’re likely getting ready to sit through the credits of Madame Web to see what this Sony Pictures movie offers.
The post-credit scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe all lead to something big. They were about small teases of things to come in Endgame. However, it seems now that every single movie is offering a post-credit scene.
Lisa Frankenstein is one recent movie that bucked the trend of post-credit scenes. However, it’s not a superhero movie. We were certainly ready for something with Madame Web.
Madame Web does not have a post-credit scene
Well, director SJ Clarkson has surprised everyone—and for some, in a good way. You don’t need to stick around until the end of the credits to see some extra scene thrown in.
Clarkson told The Hollywood Reporter that this was a conscious choice. Her father had always told her to make sure she says everything she wants to say. The movie did that, so she didn’t feel the need to add a post-credit scene to give audiences more.
Does this mean there won’t be more from this universe? That’s not necessarily the case. It just means that there isn’t a tease that intends to continue a story that doesn’t get a chance to be told. It also means that the next movie has more free reign. There’s no need to look back at a post-credit scene and see how that leads to something more or bigger.
This is probably a relief to a lot of people. While the post-credit scenes were great to grow Phase 3 of the MCU, they’re not always needed. However, it seems like everyone thinks that we should have them as a way to keep people around for the credits. Let the names in the credits do all the talking.
Madame Web is now out in theaters.
