Zootopia 2 is coming in 2025! Watch the fun and fur-filled teaser!

Disney's Zootopia will continue the friskiness and fun of Judy Hopps and her companion, Nick Wilde, with its upcoming sequel, Zootopia 2. D23 Expo 2024 attendees were treated to a special presentation of the film and the newest additions to the cast! It's exciting to see, as Zootopia 2 will come out sooner than you think!

If you need a refresher, Zootopia was released in 2016 and follows police bunny Judy Hopps and her partner-in-crime, Nick Wilde the Fox, as they solve crimes throughout the city of Zootopia. Nick wasn't part of the Zootopia Police Department as he was a con artist until he met Judy, who insisted be her partner.

The movie went on to win the "Best Animated Feature" at the 2017 Academy Awards and grossed billions in the Box Office globally after its release.

With Zootopia 2 happening, here's what you need to know, including the teaser clip announcement released at D32 Expo 2024.

Coming straight from D23 Expo 2024 last weekend, a teaser clp of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde was shown to the audience. in the clip, the detectives are trying to slither up the location of Gary, a snake who has an incriminating past.

Ginnifer Goodwin, who voices Judy, surprised fans with her appearance with the film's announcement and what's to come next for the bunny and the sly fox. She additionally revealed new characters and introduced reptiles to Zootopia's world. From the clip alone, Zootopia 2 promises to be adventure-filled and clever in the plot.

Oh, and Academy Award Winner Ke Huy Quan will be joining the talent roster!

Zootopia 2's official synopsis

The Parent Watch attained the press release for Zootopia 2's synopsis, which can be accssed below.

"Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before. "

Release date

Zootopia 2 will have a theatrical release date on November 26th, 2025, one day before Thanksgiving.

The poster

Along with the clip and synopsis, Disney revealed the official poster. The brightly-color art displays all of Zootopia's citizens, plus the addition of two new faces, Gary the Viper, who strangely resembles Kaa the Python from the 1967 Disney animation, The Jungle Book. Another newcomer is Nibbles the Beaver, who'll help Judy and Nick crack the case of capturing Gary.

I mean, the design alone on this poster is truly remarkable and I can already tell Zootopia 2 will be a Box Office smash.
