Pixar: BrickToons—the new little show about your favorite characters in a LEGOLAND universe—will premiere on Disney+ on September 4th! Each episode will feature a popular film from the Pixar/Disney franchise, recreated with the charming characters as LEGO figures in new adventures. Nemo, Miguel, Merida, Lightening McQueen, and The Incredibles will be transformed into bricks as they enter their new "square-tastic" environment.
As somebody who loved playing with LEGOs and building new worlds in her younger years, BrickToons will be the perfect nostalgic experience. Kids will enjoy the show, too, as many are fascinated with the LEGOS brand and create their own vision with the blocks.
I suspect LEGO sales will skyrocket following BrickToons, as it's usually the case when two supercell companies collaborate. LEGO.com has an entire Disney/Pixar line that includes Inside Out 2, Frozen, and Disney Princesses.
There aren't any BrickToons sets available as of this writing, but if LEGO does unveil the line, we'll update you on the latest developments.
LEGO® Pixar: BrickToons: Everything to know
LEGO Pixar: BrickToons will have five episodes, all of which will drop on September 4th on Disney+. We have everything you'll need to learn about this upcoming show.
First things first, Disney+ released the official synopsis for LEGO Pixar: BrickToons, which The Parent Watch obtained from a press release. We'll have a Great Barrier Reef trip with Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, a Brave adventure, and the Parr family again battling evil.
The synopsis:
"Join some of your favorite LEGO Pixar characters for all-new adventures! Sing along with Miguel in the Land of the Dead, help Merida and her brothers through a beary rocky situation, take an epic field trip with Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, and watch the Parr family [The Incredibles] try to save their neighborhood from Syndrome, and join Mater as he prepares Lightning McQueen for his next big race!"
The poster:
The colorful, five-tiered poster features all five episodes with the iconic characters in their reimagined universe. Nemo looks close to his animated counterpart, while Miguel from Coco has taken on a completely skeletal look reserved for those who passed on and crossed the Marigold Bridge. Seeing how Miguel didn't die, I think it's a little depressing, but he's doing what he loves, and that's music.
The trailer:
Lastly, Pixar previewed what's inside each episode in the 54-second trailer. It seems like Dory is delightfully well aware that she's constructed out of LEGO bricks and chants:
"Just keep building. Just keep building. Just keep building, building, building!"
We love that attitude!
