Frog and Toad is almost back on Apple TV+. And in advance of the Season 2 premiere on May 31, the streamer has released a brand-new trailer for the series. And as someone who was obsessed with the series when younger (and, you know, now) it looks like another wonderful, heartwarming adaptation of one of the best children’s book series ever awaits us.

In the trailer, we reunite with the boisterous, earnest Frog (voiced by Nat Faxon) and his best friend and all-around grump Toad (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson). Over the course of the minute-long look at the series, we see bits of various stories Frog is telling Toad in order to cheer him up, something that never sticks for long. That includes a story about going swimming, one where they put on a play, and one where Toad falls in a hole, which I am just now, decades later, getting is a joke on the classic breakfast dish “Toad in a Hole.”

Anyway, beyond Faxon and Richardson, the season includes returning voices from Ron Funches, Fortune Feimster, Cole Escola, Aparna Nancherla, John Hodgeman, Yvette Nicole Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Tom Kenny, Selene Luna, Margaret Cho, and Betsy Sodaro. That’s quite the voice cast!

Here’s the official synopsis for the series, per a press release from Apple TV+:

“Frog is a frog. Toad is a toad. They have a lot in common … but they are also very different. Frog and Toad are best friends who know that the true secret to friendship is not only enjoying the things you have in common, but embracing the things that make you different. Since our differences are what makes us special, Frog and Toad celebrate what makes them unique!”

The show is based on Lobel’s books, which have received multiple awards over the years including both the Caldecott and the Newbery Honor.
