It’s entirely possible you and your kids completely missed out on Nickelodeon’s all-ages series Yo Gabba Gabba! It originally aired from 2007 through 2015, with four seasons and 66 episodes of pure, musical fun. And then it pretty much disappeared from streaming, with only YouTube clips of the insanely catchy songs available online.

But guess what? Foofa, Toodee, Muno, Brobee and Plex are back for a brand new 10-episode series, titled Yo Gabba Gabbaland! And Apple TV+, which is releasing the series, are offering up a first look at the familiar characters, and new host Kammy Kam, played by Kamryn Smith.

“It has brought everyone at Apple so much joy to reimagine this beloved children’s series in the most vibrant, magical and colorful way possible for fans of all ages,” said Tara Sorensen, head of children’s programming for Apple TV+ via a press release provided to The Parent Watch. “The original characters, stories and music of Yo Gabba Gabba have a truly unique quality that captured the hearts of global audiences as it taught kids about the world around them. As we expand this wonderful world with friends both old and new, alongside so many brilliant musical guests, this iconic pop cultural phenomenon will undoubtedly uplift a whole new generation.”

Speaking as someone who has had every song from the original Yo Gabba Gabba! stuck in his head after repeated viewings with the kids for over a decade now: yes, Tara Sorensen is correct.

The even better part of this news is that while original host DJ Lance Rock (aka Lance Robertson) does not seem to be back for the reboot, the other original actors have returned: Erin Pearce as Toodee, Emma Penrose as Foofa, Adam Deibert as Muno, Amos Watene as Brobee and Christian Jacobs as Plex have all returned for the new series.

In addition, as with the original, there are a slew of guest stars throughout the season including Reggie Watts, Sam Richardson, Gillian Jacobs, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lauren Lapkus, Chelsea Peretti, Diplo, Flea, and more TBA.

The new series is produced with WildBrain and Yo Gabba Gabba, LLC, who co-own the brand. It’s created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, the original co-creators of the series.

The series will premiere Friday, August 9 at Apple TV+.
