July 4th often brings out the grills, fireworks, travel, and beach time, making the holiday a family-fun event to ring in America's birthday. Adding to the mix would be selecting a movie from Disney+'s expansive catalog, and depending on where you're located in the country, it might be a good idea to stay in to beat the heat.
Disney+ has plenty of star-spangled options that will help celebrate the holiday with your kids, and maybe begin a new family tradition.
Ben and Me (1953)
Ben and Me is an adorable featurette told through the eyes of Ben Franklin's little mouse friend, Amos. He, along with Franklin, unveils some of the discoveries, inventions, and achievements the latter has made in his life. From electricity to newspapers and even new ways in journalism, the two friends made these contributions possible.
Franklin was one of Our Nation's founding fathers and a very vital one and without him, our country would not have its rich past and the fight for our freedoms.
The Simpsons Movie (2007)
Nothing says more American than The Simpsons, and in The Simpsons Movie, you're going to see lots of spoofs crafted in good old American style. The premise follows Homer, who botched the integration of Springfield's water and waste systems, and as a result, he and his family are banned from the town.
Yet, it's Homer who had a rare moment of clarity and saves the town from excessive government control. At the end, he restrengthens his family bond, and he and Marge are closer than ever.

Captain America (2011) (and other Marvel movies)
Marvel has always been a great franchise for family time, and the best part is that there's a hero for everyone. Such as Captain America, the founder of the Avengers, and his ambition to protect and serve America heroically against evil.
Other options include Iron Man and Spider-Man, who is my favorite Marvel hero. If the kids are too young to watch the movies, the preschool series Spidey and His Amazing Friends will surely fill the void.
The Sandlot (1993)
The Sandlot is a coming-of-age movie about doing one last innocent summer before facing the world of adulthood. What's more symbolic of childhood innocence than baseball and the friends made from playing the game? That's what happens when a new boy moves into the neighborhood and meets some of his closest, lifelong companions. They soon bond over America's most beloved sport while exploring all that summer has to offer in a small town.
Moreover, the late James Earl Jones portrayed the boys' mentor and friend, discussed all things baseball, and gave The Sandlot its warmth.
