Some really exciting news just crossed the pond from the U.K.! Mummy and Daddy pig, beloved parents of Peppa Pig, ecstatically welcomed their newest piglet, Evie, early in the morning on May 20—and my, did she receive a royal an’oink’ing!
Mummy Pig’s pregnancy was first announced in February of 2025, followed by the gender reveal in April. Fans were surprised by Evie’s birth announcement early this morning via Good Morning Britain, as well as through the Peppa Pig official Instagram page, which posted a reel with the hashtag, "ExpectingPigChanges".
A town crier, which is a very important officer of royal business in British culture, graced the Insta-world with a golden bell, scroll, baby pink easel, and all the seriousness of a royal family birth to commemorate the announcement. The cartoon image released by the creator of Peppa Pig also paid homage to St. Mary’s Hospital of London, which is the birthplace of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Peppa Pig is now in its tenth season, and with close to 400 episodes in all, it is approaching the twentieth anniversary of the series premiere. Loyal fans adore the show for its kid-friendly lessons on acceptance, family bonds, making mistakes, and going on adventures.
Peppa is so relatable for kids because she asks lots of questions, often doesn’t have a filter, and enjoys being active. The show encourages children to try new things and introduces them to diverse perspectives and lifestyles through other adorable animal characters.
For example, in season 6 of Peppa Pig, we meet Mandy Mouse, who uses a wheelchair to get around and was once the new kid in town. She is very accepted and supported by her peers and shows that kids with different abilities still belong and deserve respect.
If your little one loves the Peppa Pig series, you can also take the adventure on the road to celebrate the new addition! Peppa Pig Theme Park has locations in Florida, Texas, Illinois, and, of course, Europe. I took my daughters to Legoland in Winter Haven, Florida, a few years ago, and they had a blast! The Peppa Pig portion of the theme park was a separate entry, so we didn't go in, but from what I could see, it was much smaller. This is, however, perfect for toddlers who can't get on rides at other theme parks. If you're taking a family trip to a city near a Peppa Pig Theme Park, consider making that a stop on your itinerary, because it's also very affordable.
Mark your calendars, because the Peppa Pig fandom will get to watch the newest piglet, Evie’s, first official appearance very soon! According to NBC News, viewers’ first glimpse of baby Evie will be in Peppa Meets the Baby Cinema Experience, showing in select movie theaters in the U.S. on May 30.
While you wait to meet the newest member of the drive, you can stream episodes of Peppa Pig on Netflix, Paramount+, and YouTube!
