Christmas in July? Hannukah in the heat? With record-high temps already sizzling this summer, you might actually be dreaming about a winter wonderland. Here’s some news that will keep you feeling frosty!

Tamera Mowry-Housley spread the holiday cheer in a recent post on Instagram, expressing her excitement about hosting the new Hallmark baking series, Baked with Love: Holiday.

In the caption, she wrote that she “loved being back in [her] hosting element”, and fans who know how much she loves baking and Christmas will be feeling quite jolly later this year when the show releases.

Of course, we know Tamera best from Sister, Sister, Seventeen Again, and Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show,The Real, but Mowry-Housley is no stranger to Hallmark, nor baking competitions. She has been the leading actress and executive producer for many Hallmark Christmas movies, including Scouting for Christmas (2024), Inventing the Christmas Prince (2022),The Santa Stakeout (2021), Christmas Comes Twice (2020), and A Christmas Miracle (2019).

Tamera Mowry-Housley is well-known for her roles in family and romance-themed holiday films, but you may have missed her appearance as the host of Dr. Seuss Baking Challenge on Prime Video in 2022. She also filmed her own baking episodes, called Tamera’s Kitchen, which you can find on her lifestyle blog for recipes and fashion.

Mowry-Housley brings warmth, silliness, and hidden talents as a host/judge, so we can’t wait to see her again in Baked with Love: Holiday later this year.

Premise of the reality competition, Baked with Love: Holiday

In the new series, Baked with Love: Holiday, ten pairs of bakers will compete for a grand prize of $50,000 in an unscripted show. According to Hallmark Channel, the pairs will “…infuse their heritage, personal stories, and cherished family recipes into classic bakes with a twist…” on a week-to-week basis.

The layout of the show is similar to most baking competitions, where the judges will ask competitors to represent who they are and where they come from in a delicious, warm baked good, while also using their creativity to stick to a particular theme. Presentation, taste, and execution of directions will all play a factor in how the judges choose the winning recipe.

Anna Haugh

Haugh is the head chef of Myrtle Restaurant in London, serving,“modern European cooking with an Irish influence”, according to the restaurant’s main website. Haugh also served as a judge on Master Chef: The Professionals in 2022, and starred in her own show, Anna Haugh’s Big Irish Food Tour earlier this year.

It will be interesting to see how Haugh's cut-throat judging expertise comes into play in a friendly baking competition-- will contestants be just as eager, or will they feel the pressure?

Vaughn Vreeland

Vreeland is an American chef-turned-journalist, who has his oven mitts in a wide range of projects. He produces videos for New York Times Cooking, vlogs and blogs his own recipes, and recently released a baking cookbook titled “Cookies: The best recipes for the perfect anytime treat”.

Vreeland's outgoing personality and attention to detail are sure to inspire the competing teams to bake recipes that hit the mark with flavor and visual appeal.

Hallmark has not announced an official release date, but we can expect it to be early December at the latest, seeing that Hallmark usually drops its holiday-themed shows as early as November.
