Squid Game season 3 parents guide: This Netflix Korean series is still no good for the kids

After the first two seasons of Squid Game, did you really think season 3 would be suitable for the kids?

It’s time for the end of Squid Game, as the third season is confirmed as the final one. This wraps everything up, bringing us plenty more twists and turns along the way. Of course, the big question is whether you’re watching this show with the kids around or not.

I think the first two seasons of Squid Game are an excellent way to determine if the show is suitable for your kids. Squid Game season 3 picks up off the back of the shocking turn of events in the second season, and that means plenty more gore and violence coming our way.

Squid Game season 3 age rating: This show still earns its TV-MA rating

Like the first two seasons, Squid Game season 3 is officially rated TV-MA. The series is set in South Korea, where people enter a game with the chance to win a life-changing amount of money. At first, it looks like they’re just playing their favorite childhood games, but then they end up being thrown into a nightmare that involves death and gore.

Sex & nudity: There still isn’t too much in the way of sex or nudity in the third season, but there are a couple of moments to be aware of. There is a scene with a woman giving birth, but very little is shown considering the act. Then, after that, this character breastfeeds her child, but again, this is done in a respectful way.

Violence & gore: Of course, like with the first two seasons, Squid Game season 3 includes a lot of violence and gore. There are many scenes with players being violently stabbed and shot, and there’s plenty of blood splatter to indicate that.

The third season trailer makes it clear that there will be a scene with multiple bodies shown in full. It looks like they have been thrown off a high building, but it’s worth watching the third season to find out exactly what’s going on. I don’t think any examples are really needed for the violence and gore when you’ve watched how the first two seasons play out!

Language: The F-bomb is dropped multiple times throughout the third season, just like with the first two seasons. There are also plenty of other swear words, including the S-word, B-words, and the C-word. The second season saw the language jump up considerably, and the third season has continued that.

Alcohol & drugs: We do see the gamemaster drinking while he is watching everything happen on the screen. This is potentially his way of coping with what he’s doing. With the drug addicts from the second season dead in season 3, there’s little drug use throughout the third season.

Overall verdict: Who is Squid Game season 3 appropriate for?

This series as a whole is made for adults, but it’s clear that some older teenagers are interested in it. It doesn’t help that there’s a game on Roblox that is set up as Squid Game, with all the games and the music. So, of course, they want to watch the show.

This series is highly graphic when it comes to violence and gore, and that’s the part that is going to make a lot of parents question whether it’s right for their children. Squid Game season 3 is something that’s going to give some people nightmares, but the violence doesn’t get worse than season 2, so watch that season and then determine if this one is appropriate for your children.

Squid Game is available to stream in full on Netflix.
