This June is a big month for Prime Video! Unless, of course, you’re looking for shows for kids and family. While the rest of the world is eagerly anticipating the new season of The Boys premiering on June 13, do not under any circumstances let your kids watch that show. PSA! Thanks.
So what is there to watch on Amazon’s streaming service? Great question. First and foremost, a ton of old Godzilla movies, if your kids are into cheesy monster flicks. This may or may not tie into the rumored digital release of Godzilla Minus One on June 1. But whether that more adult flick ends up on Prime Video or not, you can enjoy a bunch of man in suit action with your kids, guilt free.
If you’re not a monster movie fan, the other big release to look forward to is the Mean Girls musical remake, which has been available on streaming and for rental for a while, but finally hits Prime Video. While there are some objectionable parts, it’s less objectionable than the original Mean Girls movie, and it’s a musical so your teens might be interested.
There’s also an animated movie called Animal Crackers that stars the voice of John Krasinski that I either never heard of or completely memory-holed, so you can check that out – and a few other choices, as well. Just not The Boys. Never The Boys.
