After weeks of pretty much nothing new on TV for your kids to watch, there are finally new, entire TV shows there to keep ‘em busy. I mean, stimulate their young minds. Or whatever.

That kicks off with Geek Girl and The Famous Five, two imports with very different focuses, but both based on books. You’ve also got a great new documentary about Jim Henson, new episodes of Doctor Who and My Adventures With Superman. And Frog and Toad is back! Heck, it’s like Christmas for your eyes!

Meanwhile, in theaters it’s still relatively thin pickings, so maybe stick to the streamers. So let’s get into the rundown of what’s new to watch with kids and family this weekend.

NEW TO STREAMING ON DISNEY+, NETFLIX, PRIME VIDEO, HULU, MAX:

Geek Girl

Now streaming on Netflix, this adorable YA series stars Emily Carey from House of the Dragon as a nerd who accidentally becomes a model. All 10 episodes are streaming now.

The Famous Five

Based on the books by Enid Blyton, the six episodes of this series premiered in the UK last December, and now have finally made their way to America. It stars a bunch of kids and a dog as a group of adventurers, and premiered to mixed reviews. But hey, maybe we’ll like it better here in the States!

Where to Stream: Hulu

Frog and Toad

All new episodes of this wonderful series based on Arnold Lobel's books are now on Apple TV+, meaning you can watch the title character's wonderful friendship right now with the whole fam.

Jim Henson: Idea Man

We’ve already discussed this new documentary in our review, but the Ron Howard directed doc takes you inside the life of the man who made the Muppets thanks to incredible archival footage, and new interviews with his friends, co-workers, and family. It won’t dig too deep, but it’ll also leave you feeling warm, happy, and hopeful about the power of art.

Where to Stream: Disney+

Doctor Who

This season of Doctor Who has been fantastic so far, but is growing increasingly adult in subject matter. Will this week’s episode, “Dot and Bubble,” which looks like a Black Mirror riff, reverse the trend? We shall see! New episodes stream at 7pm ET on Fridays.

Where to stream: Disney+

My Adventures With Superman

The third episode of My Adventures With Superman Season 2, finds Clark Kent and Jimmy Olson rooming with Lois Lane’s grumpy father. Now that’s a recipe for comedy! New episodes air Saturdays at Midnight on Adult Swim, but you can catch them at a more reasonable time Sundays on Max.

Where to stream: Max

IN THEATERS:

Young Woman and the Sea

Daisy Ridley stars Trudy Ederle, the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel. So, like Nyad, but a little less cursing, probably.

The Garfield Movie

The new Garfield movie had a worse Monday than the title character this past weekend, barely eking out a win against Furiosa in the worst Memorial Day box office in decades. But hey, he eats lasagna and does other… Garfield things. So if you want to watch that, here you go.

IF

Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming star as a man and a girl (descriptive, I know) who team up to help pair a bunch of sad, lonely imaginary friends with new children. The John Krasinski written and directed film stars a slew of big names from Steve Carrell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and more.

Kung Fu Panda 4

This movie still being in theaters despite being available to watch literally anywhere else is my Joker origin story.
