It’s a long family weekend, and you know what that means: movies. Movies, and TV, and TV, and movies. Possibly some barbecuing at some point in there, but with temperatures rising all over the country, I don’t know about you, but I would much rather stay inside.

That’s where the guide below comes in, with a look at what’s new on streaming, and what you can see safely with kids and families in theaters this weekend. The big new release is the latest Garfield movie, which is getting less glowing reviews than the time I tried to sneak carrots into my kids’ lasagna. On the other hand, you can also watch IF, which also has gotten pretty bad reviews.

Say, what about TV? Anything better there? There sure is, friend, with the return of the great My Adventures With Superman, what is reported to be a fantastic episode of Doctor Who, and a new season of everyone’s favorite show about children being eaten by dinosaurs.

So let’s get into the rundown of what’s new to watch with kids and family this weekend.

NEW TO STREAMING ON DISNEY+, NETFLIX, PRIME VIDEO, HULU, MAX:

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

The animated extension of the Jurassic Park franchise continues on Netflix with Chaos Theory, which is itself essentially a new season of Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous. If your kids liked the previous seasons of kids in danger, they’re probably like this one, too.

Doctor Who

Another week, another episode of Doctor Who. This week is “73 Yards,” a mostly Doctor-less episode which advance reviewers – as well as showrunner Russell T. Davies – are calling one of the best episodes of the show in years. Given this season has been pretty darn great already, that’s high praise. New episodes stream at 7pm ET on Fridays.

My Adventures With Superman

We’ve already gone to bat for this fantastic animated superhero series in our Season 2 review, but just to reiterate… These anime-inspired Superman adventures are funny, exciting, and great for the whole family; whether you’re a fan of Superman, or not. New episodes air Saturdays at Midnight on Adult Swim, but you can catch them at a more reasonable time Sundays on Max.

IN THEATERS:

The Garfield Movie

If you hate Mondays and love lasagna, have I got the movie for you! It’s called Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and it’s in theaters now. Unrelated, but there’s also a new Garfield animated movie starring Chris Pratt in theaters you can check out now.

IF

Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming star as a man and a girl (descriptive, I know) who team up to help pair a bunch of sad, lonely imaginary friends with new children. The John Krasinski written and directed film stars a slew of big names from Steve Carrell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and more. It didn’t necessarily tear up theaters when it premiered last weekend, but hey, you can check it out and see for yourself.

Kung Fu Panda 4

It is absolutely inexplicable to me that this is not only still in theaters, it is running at multiple times in multiple theaters (at least in New York). If you are going to see this movie this weekend, please let me know: why?
