Netflix’s Wednesday gets back into production with new cast and guest stars
By the time Wednesday Season 2 hits Netflix, your formerly obsessed teens might already be adults. But the good news is that the show is coming back, and Netflix has announced the monster hit series is officially back in production with some returning faces, and plenty of new ones.
“We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces,” said Creators/Writers/ Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar via a press release provided to The Parent Watch.
Per the “entire Addams family” thing, not only will Jenna Ortega return as Wednesday Addams, despite what a million clickbait sites want you to think, but Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams) have been upped to series regulars. Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Ritchie Santiago) has also been upped to series regular status.
In addition, new series regulars include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Guest stars include Christopher Lloyd, who played Uncle Fester in the theatrical, live-action movies, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
That’s pretty packed already, and as you can see in the cast pic above Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer are also in the cast. Notably absent is cast-member Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier in Season 1 and ran into a bit of trouble between seasons, to put things lightly.
In addition to the new cast, Netflix has launched a new Thing Tok channel on Tik Tok, so you can watch the production develop from a severed hand’s perspective. There’s nothing there yet, though, so like, subscribe and tell your friends.
There’s no premiere date yet for Wednesday Season 2, but expect it to drop at earliest some time in 2025.
