Right now, the live-action The Acolyte is tearing it up on Disney+. But with murders, betrayal and spooky Sith guys, the series isn’t for everyone. Enter Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, which is returning for Season 2 this August on Disney Jr. and Disney+. And not only will there be new episodes, Disney is bringing on shorts, as well.

First up, the shorts will premiere on both the channel and the streamer on August 2. Then the first half of Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. But since always two, there are, the second half of the season will premiere in early 2025.

Can’t wait that long? There’s also a brand-new 2D-animated series titled Fun With Nubs that’s available right now on StarWarsKids.com and at YouTube.com/StarWarsKids, following the lovable Nubs and droid RJ-83 as they try to complete tasks on the planet of Tenoo.

If you’re not familiar, Young Jedi Adventures is set during the High Republic era, 200 years before the prequel movies. That’s also 100 years before The Acolyte, so don’t worry, there won’t be any crossover events to terrorize your kids.

The series focuses on three Jedi trainees Kai Brightstar (JeCobi Swain), Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfeld), and (Dee Bradley Baker) Nubs as they learn to control their Force based powers, and go on adventures across the galaxy. Along with the main trio, this season will include a new Padawan, Wes Vinik (Gunnar Sizemore), and a new astromech droid named R0-M1, as well as the growing threat of The Ganguls, a band of pirates.

The show also stars the voices of Emma Berman, Trey Murphy, Nasim Pedrad and Piotr Michael as Master Yoda. It’s produced by Lucasfilm in collaboration with Wild Canary, and EPed by James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, and Josh Rimes. Michael Olson serves as both EP and showrunner, Elliot M. Bour is the show’s supervising director and Co-EP, and Lamont Magee is a consulting producer.
