There's no better time to catch up on movies (or take several trips to the theater) than when school's out for summer! But parents don't want to watch just any movie, we want to enjoy what we are doing, too. That said, we're highlighting five Marvel movies you can watch with everyone in the family, including the new release Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Let's be honest, when if comes to kid-friendly content, it's not all fun to sit through. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of Blippi. And the day my kid outgrew Caillou and Peppa Pig was one of the best days ever. So instead of watching a movie we know we will not enjoy, why not take introduce our kids to Marvel?

Now, I know not every Marvel movie is kid-friendly. Many are not even entertaining enough to hold our kid's attention, so we've put together a quick list of five great parent-approved Marvel movies!

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and 5 Marvel movies to watch with the kids

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

First up, there's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This is the most recent Marvel feature and follows one of the most popular and widely recognized Marvel characters, Spider-Man. The movie focuses on Miles Morales and Spider-People from multiple universes. To truly enjoy this movie, though, you need to watch the first one, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

These movies champion diversity in a truly amazing way. There's so much to love! Kids over the age of seven will learn the importance of being a good friend and the love of family, while enjoying the cool animation and graphics. If you prefer to watch something at home, there's plenty! You'll just need a Disney+ account.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel was a game-changer in the superhero world. The female-centered movie, though, is recommended for older kids. I would say ages 10 and over, this is due to violence. But as the parent, you decide! Captain Marvel also introduces new characters, so there's no need to know much about the MCU. Best of all, the movie is streaming on Disney+ so it is only a click away!

The Avengers

While it is best to watch the Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America movies ahead of The Avengers, it's not necessary. Kids seven and older will love seeing Hulk smash and Iron Man fly. It's action-packed, so it is guaranteed to keep your little one's attention. Stream The Avengers on Disney+.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 does feature some suggestive scenes and violence young eyes may find spooky. However, just like The Avengers, the movie is a fun, action-packed, colorful good time. This one is for kids eight and over. Parents, if you haven't seen this movie, you'll love it for the soundtrack alone!

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Everyone knows and loves Peter Parker, he's our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. And, because of Peter's age, the MCU Spider-Man movies are not too graphic or violent. If you want to teach your kid that, with great power, comes great responsibility, this movie is a good place to start. I recommend it for children over the age of seven. Stream it on Disney+ today.

Which Marvel movie is your favorite to watch with the kids? Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters everywhere.
