Movies are set to entertain and share some life lessons. That’s exactly what you get with One Fast Move. Now, you just need to decide if it’s suitable for kids or not.

KJ Apa stars as Wes, a young man who finds himself on the wrong side of the law. After spending six months in prison, he is dishonorably discharged from the military and has no job prospects. So, he decides to take a leap in life and heads out to find his estranged father so he can follow his dream of racing motorbikes.

There are plenty of life lessons to learn throughout this entertaining racing movie. The question is whether it’s suitable for your kids to watch.

One Fast Move is officially an R-rated movie

The movie has an R rating on Prime Video, but does it deserve it? Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect to see throughout One Fast Move.

Sex & nudity: There is a scene where Wes has sex with his love interest, Camila. This is tastefully done. While there is some nudity and you can see what they are doing, it is done with a soft lighting backdrop, which avoids the issue of gratuitous sex. After this, we see the two laying in bed naked, but only Wes’ shirtless body is on clear show.

There is a scene toward the three quarter mark where we can hear characters having sex. This is all done off-screen, though.

Language: There is some mild profanity throughout the movie. Expect to hear the S-word a lot. The F-bomb is dropped a few times, especially in frustration.

Violence & gore: The opening of the movie involves Wes being involved in a police chase. He is held down by the cops. However, the violence is on the mild side throughout this movie. We do see a fight break out at the side of the racetrack as the race gets heated.

The focus of this movie is on life lessons and motorcycle races, though. There isn’t a lot of gore shown in the fights. There are just moments where we see minor cuts and bruises.

Alcohol & smoking: The characters regularly drink as a way to unwind. There are a few scenes in a bar, and then there is a moment where Wes and Dean are at Dean’s home watching motorcycle races for training. The two are drinking while watching this.

Overall verdict: Who is One Fast Move appropriate for?

While this movie is officially rated R, it is something that older teens will enjoy. The R-rated content is on the milder side, with One Fast Move offering some great life lessons for teens. It’s about finding family, chasing dreams, and not letting one bad choice control the rest of your life.
