Nickelodeon announces 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards nominees, with Taylor Swift in the lead

We know who is hosting the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024… That would be SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Star, aka Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke, “live” from Bikini Bottom. And now we know who is nominated and, presumably, will drown to death when they attempt to accept their award underwater. Just kidding, though how they'll get slimed underwater is a BIG, OPEN QUESTION!

As usual, the kid-friendly award show is capturing the zeitgeist with nominees ranging from Sabrina Carpenter, to Ayo Edebiri, to icons like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

In fact, no surprise here: Tay Tay leads the nominations with six possible awards. Following up on her bedazzled heels are Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake, with four nominations each.

While the lead nominees are music-heavy, we don’t know whether any of them will perform – underwater, or otherwise. All presenters and musical performances will be announced at a later date, though fingers crossed we get to see Taylor Swift duet “Sweet Victory” with SpongeBob.

In case you’re curious, yes, celebs will (somehow) interact with the animated characters, a la the channel’s popular experiments with the NFL. The broadcast, per Nick, will include “enhanced graphics, high-tech motion capture and augmented reality; fun celebrity collaborations and stunts as Nickelodeon celebrates SpongeBob SquarePants’ special birthday; and the net’s signature orange blimp award and epic slimings.”

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will premiere on Saturday, July 13 at 8 pm ET/PT. You’ll be able to watch it on basically any Paramount network including Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, TVLand, CMT and MTV2. Will it also stream on Paramount+? TBA.
