We had the pleasure of speaking with Bautista and Coleman as they reunited for the sequel to this franchise. Get a glimpse into My Spy: The Eternal City through our conversation and learn more about the film! Read on!

It's been a while since My Spy came out. Now that there's a sequel, what did you two miss about working together?

Dave Bautista: How easy it was. It's hard to really say because we all the time. We interacted with each other so much throughout the years. It's just, I don't know. I didn't miss her because she was always there. She was present in my life, so when we went to film My Spy 2, it wasn't like we were reunited. It was like we were on vacation.

This film is shot in Venice, Italy. I mean, how cool is that to go to another country and film a movie there? What did you find most exciting ?

DB: We did film some in Venice. We shot a lot in Rome, and we also shot a lot in Cape Town, South Africa. I mean, come on. It's like everywhere. How lucky were we? It was fun. That was amazing!

Chloe Coleman: We saw so much in the span of three months, like from going on a safari to being all over Italy. It was really incredible!

Dave, JJ has this paternal role to Sophie. I wanted to know, and I know you're a father. Did you learn anything that you could put into working together for My Spy: Eternal City?

DB: I've always been. I have a paternal nature, just who I am as a person. But I think the first My Spy and the second My Spy: Eternal City have been my only opportunities to really put it on film, but I think it's an organic thing. It's a natural thing. My chemistry with Chloe is very organic, so it made it very easy for me to step into this fatherly role, but no, I think it was more of an opportunity to display it, not something that I learned from the film. It's just me being me on film.

CC: There's a lot of ourselves in it, I'd say.

Chloe, was there a specific scene that you loved filming from the second one? There's a lot of really funny moments, but was there one that stood out to you?

CC: You know what was really funny? When me and Kristen were up on the balcony and she has the gun, that was so funny. I remember it was a big deal because it was like a cute... It was really heavy, too. And they were like, 'Okay, here's how you do it, you're going to do a safety check before every take and we're going to count.' There were all these rules. Then, Kristen was just being hilarious and pointing. She's like, 'Here, take it.' That was funny. I loved it. I liked that whole segment.

DB: I think the funniest parts for me were watching you and Kristen interact off-camera when we weren't filming, just a conversation. I had some great moments with her. It was great.

Dave, same question for you. Was there a scene that stood out to you? It doesn't even have to be with you two together, but is there one that was, 'Okay, this is the defining moment for me.'

DB: Defining...Probably, for this film, I think it would be the end scene where I'm just coming out of the water. Without giving a spoiler, I think that defines the movie. That's the full arc of the movie. I always tend to lean towards emotional moments of film and acting. I think that part of the film was the heart of the film, that emotional connection with the two characters.
