Inside Out 3 is a necessary installment, especially with one particular focus
There is absolutely no doubt that Inside Out 3 is needed. There’s even a great point in Riley’s life that the story could take place in.
The Inside Out movies have been a roaring success. The second installment has broken records for animated movies, and it deserves the success it’s gained. It brings up some important emotions that many feel, but so many believe aren’t normal.
In our interview with Kensington Tallman, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, and Grace Lu, we discussed more about the emotions that they connected to. Tallman brought up Anxiety, sharing that this was something she has dealt with for years and she didn’t always talk about it. She felt like she was alone in this, but then realized that anxiety is a very normal part of life.
Inside Out 3 should focus on the next big stage in Riley’s life
During the interview, we also discussed the next stage in Riley’s life to cover. All three mentioned the time between the end of high school and the start of college. It’s a nerve-wracking time for many people as they head off to new cities, make new friends, and deal with a jump in their education level.
This idea makes Inside Out 3 necessary. There are so many people who go to college and feel like they don’t fit in. They worry that they’re going to fail classes, and they try hard to be something that they’re not. It’s only as they start to end college that they realize they should have been themselves all along.
Time to see a new emotion lead HQ in Inside Out 3?
This is something Inside Out 3 would need to focus on. We have all these emotions that are working together, and it would be easy for one to take over as they deal with the latest change. We’ve continued to see Joy lead the emotions. While she works with the others, she remains the leader of the group, but college is a time when that could change.
We know Riley’s dad’s emotions have Anger as the leader, while Riley’s mom’s emotions have Sadness as the leader. When did this change in their lives? Heading off to college could be that moment, and we could see how it happens as the other emotions start to become more prominent. Maybe Riley finds that Disgust or Fear start to take over situations. This would reduce the need to add new emotions, and instead, establish a new normal within HQ.
Inside Out 2 is coming to Disney+ on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Don’t miss out!
