Inside Out 2 announces tickets on sale with new clip, posters
It’s been a long, difficult few months for parents – at least those who want to take their kids to the movie theaters. Sure we’ve had some Star Wars re-releases. But otherwise, it’s been Kung Fu Panda 4 and that’s pretty much it since March. But that all changes soon as Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is rapidly heading towards theaters. And to celebrate tickets now being on sale, Disney has released a new clip from the movie, and several new posters.
Okay, new clip is generous. It’s an extended version of the scene glimpsed in the trailer for the movie where Maya Hawke’s new emotion Anxiety shows up to surprise the emotions from the first Inside Out. See, Riley – the person they all live inside – is turning into a teenager. And along with Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust come Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment. Yes, they all start with the letter “E.” As we all know, when you hit puberty, everything starts with the letter “E” that’s just how things work.
As a parent, I will note that I personally am excited to have a new movie to take the kids to. But I’m also extremely apprehensive about watching an animated flick from Pixar, which has aged up rapidly itself in subject matter. While movies like Luca still channel the fun of childhood, Soul and even Toy Story 4 were about aging up, and Inside Out 2 looks to be the same. Am I ready to share a devastating look at puberty with my kids? It’s almost summer and it’s getting hot out, so you know the answer to that one.
Inside Out 2 is directed by Kelsey Mann, and stars – deep breath – Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Grace Lu, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvette Nicole Brown.
Check out the clip below, and get some anxiety of your own about how much you’re about to cry in front of your children at the movie theater. Inside Out 2 hits theaters on June 14.
