As Frozen 3 draws closer, Disney has released its premiere date. We'll finally get the answers to the questions that Frozen 2 left unanswered, including what's next for Elsa and Anna. Unfortunately, the wait for their reunion and their upcoming adventures will be long.

Say, three years from now, but it'll be here during the holiday season. The film stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad. Frozen 3 had an initial date of 2026 but has been delayed. Disney's reasoning wasn't disclosed, but it might have to do with perfecting the storylines and getting it just right for its release.

During the special presentation at the D23 Expo 2024 earlier this month, Frozen 3 was given the release date, confirmed by the movie's director, Jennifer Lee. Along with the date, the conceptual art of the third film was revealed. The painting-like still depicts Anna and Elsa riding horseback with Olaf. A brightly colored Norwegian sun setting conceives the backdrop.

Lee highlighted with Deadline regarding the art's significance.

"It captures the scene of Anna and Elsa…everyone at Disney Animation is excited to be back at in this world."

But wait, Frozen fans, there's more! A fourth installment is also in the works since it'll take two films to solve the mysteries of Frozen 2. Frozen 4 will be released in 2028, as animators and producers are working on both films back-to-back. Disney CEO Bob Iger enthusiastically dropped the news in November on ABC's Good Morning America.

Until we get the precise date of Frozen 4, let's see when Frozen 3 will debut.

When will Frozen 3 be released?

Frozen 3 will arrive on the day before Thanksgiving-November 26th, 2027. If anything, I'm predicting that it will be the top Box Office winner for its opening weekend, based on how well the first two films performed with combined earnings of nearly $3 billion during their theatrical reigns.

Along with Frozen 3, the D23 Expo unveiled the full-length trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King, a clever sneak peek of Zootopia 2, and news regarding Toy Story 5. Disney and Pixar will be busy for the next few years as they roll out these productions and more.
