The Marvels is out in theaters, and you know that you’re going to sit through the credits. This is a Marvel movie after all. The only Marvel movie not to have a post-credit scene was Endgame for some obvious and understandable reasons.

There is certainly a mid-credit scene in The Marvels. This scene gives us a look at where the Marvel universe is heading with its current phases, and it’s an exciting hint for the comic fans out there.

We’re getting into spoilers for The Marvels from this point. If you only wanted to know about whether there’s a scene to stick around for or not, you have your answers.

What is the post-credit scene in The Marvels?

The post-credit scene picks up off the back of the way The Marvels ends. We watch Monica Rambeau make a huge sacrifice. She learns that the wormhole can only be closed from the other side, which means she needs to go into an unknown, alternate reality to close it. Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel stay on their own side.

We have no idea where Monica goes at first. It’s the post-credit scene that tells us she heads to a world where her mother has no idea who she is.

Fans will remember in WandaVision we learned that Monica was caught in the blip. When she returned, she found out her mother died of cancer. This alternate reality could be a chance for Monica to get the closure she needs, but now her mother has no idea who she is.

Her mother is even dressed as a superhero in white and red. It’s a costume that Marvel comic fans will recognize as Carol Danvers from another Earth.

Then we see Beast, from the X-Men comics, show up to explain to Monica that she’s in another world. This hints that Marvel is definitely moving into a world where the main Marvel comics and the X-Men comics are going to combine just as Kevin Feige told us. Finally!

The Marvels is currently out in theaters.
