Sure, there might be a lot of discussion about “superhero fatigue” at the movies. But super cats we could never get tired of (unless there was a nice beam of sun to doze in). Thankfully, Disney is bringing back the hit preschool series SuperKitties for a second season of “pawesome” adventures, and The Parent Watch has your exclusive first look at the trailer, guest cast, and Season 2 premiere date.

Let’s get the premiere date out of the way so your kids can stop pestering you. Season 2 of SuperKitties premieres Friday, April 5 at 9:30 am ET/PT on Disney Junior, and 2 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel. The initial batch of episodes will debut later this summer on Disney+.

But what is SuperKitties, you may ask? The show stars Emma Berman as Ginny, Cruz Flateau as Sparks, JeCobi Swain as Buddy, and Pyper Braun as Bitsy – four kid cats with superpowers. In Season 2, the foursome gets brand-new superpowers and gadgets to help save the town of Kittydale – and yes, of course, that means there’s a brand-new toy line launching as well (our apologies to your wallet).

More on that in a second, but first, let’s break down the wild guest cast popping up in Kittydale this season: Anika Noni Rose, aka Princess & The Frog’s Tiana herself as Cousin Sassy; Pamela Adlon from Better Things as Aunt Lola; and Eric Bauza of Muppet Babies fame as a robot pig named Wiggles. The petition to start a team-up show between Wiggles and Gravity Falls icon Waddles begins here.

Okay, how about those toys, and other related merchandise and experiences? Disney is, as they say, on it. Disney Consumer products will have the brand-new toy line, as well as figurines, plushies, role play, and apparel, all hitting stores this Spring; playsets, costumes, and more will hit later this year. Not only that, but Walt Disney Records will release Disney Junior Music: SuperKitties Su-Purr Charged Soundtrack featuring songs from the season on April 5.

But wait, that’s not all! If you head to Disneyland, you can check out a limited-time stage show inspired by the series titled “Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties.” It will debut during the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which is held March 1 through April 22 at Disneyland Resort.

In addition to the previously mentioned main cast and guest cast, Season 2 will also bring back Justin Guarini as Cat Burglar, James Monroe Iglehart as Mr. Puppypaws, Ruth Pferdehirt as Lab Rat, and Isabella Crovetti as Zsa-Zsa the cockatoo.

SuperKitties is created and executive-produced by Paula Rosenthal. Sarah Mullervy, Kirk Van Wormer, and Audu Paden are all executive producers. The series itself is produced by Sony Pictures Television - Kids in association with Disney Junior.
