Created by the iconic Genndy Tartakovsky, the classic Cartoon Network series Dexter’s Laboratory has been available digitally for a good long time. And we’ll get to how to stream the series in a moment. But the big news? For the first time since the series aired from 1996-2003, all 78 episodes are being released on DVD.

For those not familiar, Dexter’s Laboratory focuses on – who else – a tiny genius named Dexter, and his lab. While he comes up with incredible inventions, he’s annoyed by his sister Dee Dee, and plagued by his arch-enemy, Mandark. It’s funny, it’s goofy, and if you love other Tartakovsky creations like Samurai Jack or the Hotel Transylvania series, you’ll love this, too.

There’s also an incredible voice cast to enjoy including the legendary Christine Cavanaugh, Kath Soucie, Jeff Bennett, Kat Cressida, and Candi Milo.

Though the DVD is otherwise no-frills, it does include the 78 episodes of the series, plus the special episode, Dexter’s Laboratory: Ego Trip. Particularly given how, er, unreliable it is to find animated series on your favorite streaming services, even without the deep dives or behind-the-scenes featurettes, it’s worth picking this up when it hits retailers on June 25, 2024.

That said, if this inspired you to watch Dexter’s Laboratory right now, the good news is that you can stream it in a number of places online. It’s available for purchase on Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, and more. Prime Video seems to be the cheapest option, with individual episodes going for $1.99, while full seasons are $4.99.

But let’s say you want to pay no cash down up front?? If so, there’s an episode of the series streaming free on YouTube you can watch right now. Specifically “Babysitter Blues/Valhallen's Room/Dream Machine.“ It’s only 15 minutes long, but it’ll give you enough a taste of this great show so know you it’s worth plunking down the cash for the DVD set. Enjoy!
