Snoopy is back, and this time he’s leading a whole troop of characters in an effort to save the Beagle Scouts. Or, that’s roughly the plot of Camp Snoopy, a new Peanuts series premiering next month on Apple TV+ – though the biggest takeaway from the just-released trailer for the series is that Snoopy and company are extremely cute.

Or as Sally puts it, “We get it, you’re cute. Ease up!”

In the under two-minute look at the series, we see Snoopy and an array of Woodstocks exploring the great outdoors, the gang all eating marshmallows, some classic Peanuts dancing, and – this will shock you – Charlie Brown being sad and bummed out.

Here’s the official synopsis for the series, per a press release provided to The Parent Watch by Apple TV+:

“After discovering their troop is in danger of disbanding, Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts set off to immerse themselves in nature and the Great Outdoors to earn their badges, with the Beagle Scout Manual as their guide. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown and friends enjoy their summer at Camp Spring Lake, crossing paths with Snoopy as they experience hiking, swimming, sitting around camp-fires and everything summer camp and the outdoors have to offer.”

Yep, all of that is on display in the trailer, and much more. And it’s just the latest new special and/or series in the world of Peanuts to hit Apple TV+. There’s The Snoopy Show, Snoopy in Space, and now Camp Snoopy. They’re of course based on the classic comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, and I’d say they bring a modern sensibility to the offering, but it’s almost the opposite… This new slate of Peanuts ‘toons feel of a piece with classic specials like It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and the rest.

Camp Snoopy is directed by Rob Boutilier, and will premiere Friday, June 14, 2024 on Apple TV+. Check out the trailer below, and see how many marshmallows YOU can fit in a bird’s mouth.
