Bluey is a favorite in my household, and it's very easy to see why: a show where a very loving family of Blue Heelers gives our human children fun stories to talk about while keeping them entertaining and sneaking in some much-needed validation to us tired parents? It's truthfully a no-brainer.

Today’s a big day for our favorite blue heeler and her adorable sister, Bingo. The brand-new collection of Bluey Minisodes has just dropped on Disney+, and it’s everything we could’ve wished for and more. These bite-sized stories, written by the brilliant Joe Brumm and brought to life by Ludo Studio, pack all the charm and humor of Bluey into quick, delightful moments perfect for those lazy summer days with the kiddos home from school.

For the uninitiated, Bluey is a hit Australian animated series that follows the adventures of a playful pup named Bluey and her family. The show is renowned for its heartwarming storytelling, relatable family dynamics, and an uncanny ability to capture the essence of childhood. Whether it’s a game of pretend, a family outing, or simply goofing around at home, Bluey episodes are little nuggets of joy that resonate with kids and parents alike.

These adorable one-to-three-minute episodes are packed with laughter, sweetness, and a whole lot of Bluey and Bingo magic. Each minisode dives into playful moments and games, giving us even more reasons to fall in love with the Heeler family.

My identical 7-year-old twins and I cuddled up with Beau, our own Blue Heeler bestie, and watched the Minisodes together this morning. The result was a lot of giggles and thoughts on these seven adorable little tales (and a lot of snuggles for Mister Beau).

Minisode Highlights

1. "Burger Dog" - Kicking things off with a bang (or should we say a bark?), “Burger Dog” has Bluey and Bingo eager to bust a move to some annoyingly catchy tunes. But oh no! Dad’s phone battery is “dead.” Or is it? Watch as Mum swoops in with a call to recharge the fun. It’s classic Dad humor at its finest and ridiculously relatable.

2. "Bingo 3000" - Next up, Dad’s got a new gadget, the “Bingo 3000” robot. But when the high-tech toy starts acting up, it’s time for a hilariously chaotic call to tech support. We get an onslaught of giggles and techie troubles as Dad tries to get the robot up and running.

3. "Muffin Unboxing" - Who doesn’t love a good unboxing video? In “Muffin Unboxing,” Stripe’s camera is rolling as Muffin tries to showcase her brand-new dump truck toy. But staying focused isn’t Muffin’s strong suit, and her antics are sure to make you chuckle.

4. "Letter" - Prepare for nostalgia overload in “Letter.” Nana digs up an old story Bandit wrote when he was just five. The kids are in stitches as Nana reads out every misspelled word, capturing the pure, unfiltered creativity of childhood writing.

5. "Hungry" - In “Hungry,” Dad’s got a rumbly tummy and a mischievous plan. He pretends to gobble up Bluey, leading to a hilarious game of chase and munch. It’s a playful reminder of those silly, pretend-eating games every family knows and loves. I like to pretend to munch on my kiddos, so this episode had us three giggling like no other.

6. "Three Pigs" - “Three Pigs” brings a new twist to an old classic. Dad’s version of the tale sees the pigs and the big bad wolf ending up as friends. It’s a charming retelling that highlights the show’s knack for turning familiar stories into something fresh and delightful.

7. "Animals" - Finally, in “Animals,” Mum turns Bingo’s back into a bustling field of wildlife. From hopping kangaroos to darting mice, the game sparks endless laughter and showcases the boundless imagination of childhood.

Bluey Minisodes Feel Like Summer

These Bluey Minisodes capture the spirit of summer days perfectly. They’re short, sweet, and full of those little moments that make family time special. Just like lazy afternoons spent playing in the backyard or impromptu dance parties in the living room, each minisode is a burst of fun and laughter. With the kids out of school, these minisodes are the perfect way to fill the days with joy and adventure.

Household favorites:

My twins may be identical, but they have their own opinions when it comes to episodes (and basically their entire personalities).

One really liked "Letter" because of just how awful Bandit's spelling is on that really old note and the fact he still doesn't like Nana's cooking - especially the lasagna. The other really enjoyed "Three Pigs" because it reminded her of two bedtime stories I went ham on while coming up with them on the fly literally 4 years ago - one was about two pirate princesses finding loot and fighting skeletons and a giant shark, and the other was about two princesses who had to figure out a way to make their village dragon stop sneezing fire everywhere. Yep, that's where my creative juices went, and I have yet to come back. My personal favorite one is "Muffin Unboxing". My girls love to pretend they're YouTubers and constantly do "unboxings" or "makeup tutorials" on their tablets, and they go the same way Muffin's video adventures went - chaotically.

Whether it’s Dad’s goofy antics, Mum’s creative games, or the sheer delight of watching Bluey and Bingo explore their world, these minisodes are a must-watch. Trust me, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear.

And guess what? This is just the beginning! More Bluey Minisodes are set to premiere later this year, with the final batch arriving in 2025. So, stay tuned, because the fun is far from over.

Happy watching, Bluey fans!
