Bluey Minisodes: Just try to get “Burger Dog” out of your head after watching this new clip
Bluey is a show characterized by two things: 1) a sporadic release schedule, and 2) its ability to make grown adults sob like they just heard their best friend died. Obviously there’s a little more to it, but get ready to have a new experience from Bluey: getting driven absolutely insane by this short clip of Bluey and Bingo dancing to “Burger Dog” from the upcoming Bluey Minisodes.
The short, one to three minute episodes are airing this month in Australia, before premiering on Disney+ on July 3, 2024. Or at least, the first seven Bluey Minisodes will premiere on that day, at 12 am PT / 3 am ET. Disney notes that the first two minisodes will also air on Disney Channel and Disney Jr. that day, with the other five episodes rolling out over the “Red, White and Bluey” marathon that will air over July Fourth weekend here in the US.
Let’s talk about that clip, though. It’s from the appropriately titled episode “Burger Dog,” and sees Bluey and Bingo dancing to the music while Bandit is slowly driven mad, like he’s in some sort of H.P. Lovecraft story.
And you too will go absolutely batty listening to the song. I listened to the clip twice before it started rolling in a loop in my head. Here are the lyrics, in case you’re curious:
"Burger Dog
- Joe Brumm, creator of Bluey
Bur-burger Dog
He has pickles, and he has cheese
Burger Dog
Bur-burger Dog
Fluffy bun with sesame seeds
Burger Dog
Bur-burger Dog
Burger Dog
Bur-burger Dog
He once was a Wiener Dog
Now he is a Burger Dog"
I’m not 100% sure about those last two lines of the lyric, though I reached out to Disney to confirm in one of the more ridiculous emails I've sent in my career. Regardless, at that point, Bandit turns the song off, much to the kids’ dismay. But not mine. I hate that song. Mind you, it’s the song of the summer, and it’ll be bumping in all of the clubs in no time, but also, I hate it. Thank you, Bluey.
Other episodes in this batch include “Bingo 3000,” “Muffin Unboxing,” “Letter,” “Hungry,” “Three Pigs” and “Animals.” Disney notes that a second batch of minisodes will premiere later this year, with a final batch in 2025. Watch the clip below, and my sincere apologies to your brain.
