The animated-musical series Phineas and Ferb was created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, after working together on the 90s animated series Rocko's Modern Life. After first airing on Aug. 17, 2007, it has become Disney Channel's most successful animated franchises and remains a mainstay in kids television culture.
The show follows two stepbrothers, Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who are voiced by Vincent Martella and Thomas Sangster, respectively. The duo live in the fictional city of Danville with their older sister Candace, their parents Linda and Lawrence Fletcher, and their pet platypus who leads a double life as a secret agent, tasked with monitoring the happenings of his arch nemesis, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, an evil scientist who plans to take over the tri-state area. The show's episodes revolve around Phineas and Ferb trying to come up with ways to enjoy their "104 days of summer vacation". The show is geared towards grade school-aged children as Phineas and Ferb are assumed to be around the age of elementary school.
