There is so much that can be done with cakes. If there’s something you’re looking to watch with the family, make it Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. The series has just magicked a second season!
The Food Network series brings a mixture of baking and the Wizarding World. According to Deadline, the series quickly became one strongest shows on Thursdays. It’s the best non-news and non-sports cable series on Thursday nights for Food Network, although it’s clear that many more are tuning in via streaming.
A total of 16.4 million people watched the show across the linear network and the two streaming platforms Max and Discovery+. After all, as a Warner Bros. Discovery, it comes to both platforms.
Harry Potter: Wizard of Baking season 2 is happening
The series only landed on the Food Network in November, becoming an instant success. With the love of Harry Potter still strong and the news of the TV series coming, that’s not completely surprising. However, the news that Harry Potter: Wizard of Baking will land a second season is awesome!
James and Oliver Phelps, who play Fred and George Weasley in the movies, host the baking competition. They’re joined by special guests such as Warwick Davis, Bonnie Wright, and Evanna Lynch throughout the show, with Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef stepping in as the culinary judges.
Contestants get to show off their baking skills. They’re given a series of iconic Harry Potter locations to turn into cakes and delicacies. Some of the locations have included The Burrow, Gringotts, and even the Great Hall itself!
This is more than just crafting the cakes from a picture, though. The pastry chefs and bakers got to visit the locations to get inspiration from them.
There are plenty more locations to build, and even if the same ones are chosen in the second season, there’s a lot to look forward to. One of the things about the series is that it showed us the creativeness of the bakers as they put their imaginations and skills to the test.

Now for the biggest question of all. The truth is, Warner Bros. Discovery hasn’t said anything about a release date. That’s not surprising as now the casting for the bakers needs to happen.
We could see the arrival by the end of the year, as unscripted shows tend to take less time than scripted ones. There isn’t as much post-production needed for reality TV. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out, because this is a must for the whole family.
Harry Potter: Wizard of Baking is available to stream on both Max and discovery+.
