Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, the successor of Young Sheldon, had its premiere on Oct. 17 on CBS. The multi-camera sitcom's premise is the lives of Sheldon Cooper's older brother, Georgie (Montana Jordan), and his wife, Mandy (Emily Osment), and their baby daughter, CeeCee, as they try to make it as a family in Texas.

The pilot's events promise that Georgie and Mandy will have their ups and downs, but they're more than willing (and in love) to make it work and succeed on their own. Zoe Perry and Annie Potts from Young Sheldon made satisfying cameos, which rang back to their mom-and-daughter dynamic in their former show.

Like its predecessor, the show's rating is TV-PG, and you'll ask yourself, "Is Georgie and Mandy appropriate to watch with my kids?" We'll break down the rating and conclude whether you should include your kids in the watch.

Let me say first that Georgie and Mandy is a sitcom that gravitates towards adults and young adults. Anyone younger than 12 may not have it on their watchlist. That age group tends to kneel towards softer shows like Nickelodeon Preteen and Disney+ content. However, you can decide whether Georgie and Mandy is suitable for your kids.

Explaining the TV-PG rating

“The 6:10 to Lubbock” – Georgie and Mandy get fed up staying with her parents and reconsider their living situation after a fight with Mandy’s mom, Audrey, on the series premiere of GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE, Thursday, Oct. 17 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. After watching the pilot, the material is mild for a sitcom revolving around a young couple, as there's usually some innuendo references and mature situations. In Georgie and Mandy, there was hardly anything that rose the red flags, but that can very well change in the third episode.

Sex & Nudity: There's a scene with Georgie and Mandy lying in bed talking. They're fully clothed, and nothing but a gentle kiss happens. Georgie mentions to his coworker the story of why he and Mandy married, but there's nothing vulgar or distasteful about it.

Violence: There is no violence and you can expect none.

Language: None in the pilot, but expect casual and general swearing like "damn" and "hell" in future episodes. Both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon carried these words, and I'm sensing that G&M will follow the same pattern.

Drinking & Drugs: Georgie asks for some wine at dinnertime with his mom, grandmother, and wife despite being 21 and the legal age in Texas in 1993. However, the situation was hilarious as my family cracked up simultaneously.

Aide from this scene, there's no drug or alcohol consumption, but Jim and Georgie will have beers with dinner at the table.

Final verdict: What age is Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage appropriate for?

It's rated TV-PG because there's nothing offensive in terms of content, but it does carry mature storylines about marriage, parenting, and financial obligations. Young kids will either not understand, quickly get bored, or both. Given the show's conditions, my suggestion is 14-15. But again, it's entirely up to you to decide whether to allow your young ones to watch.

Overall, Georgie and Mandy is off to a great start, and it's phenomenal that Georgie wants to become a better man with financial and parental priorities—a glow-up from his carefree and younger days on Young Sheldon.
