Like Carl and Ellie trying to vacation in Paradise Falls, many Disney fans find that the money we planned to take us to the happiest place on earth ends up being used for other things. It's a little heartbreaking when you realize you will miss out on a big celebration like the one happening now. Disneyland Park is celebrating 70 years of magic, and we wish we could be there. But fear not, fellow Disney lovers! Disney+ has given us a way to celebrate at home with 17 attraction POV videos.
You can now experience some of your favorite Disneyland rides without worrying about your mouse ears flying off when you watch the first-person POV videos Disney+ just added. Whether you're looking for attractions that have been there the full 70 years, like Jungle Cruise and Main Street, U.S.A., or you want to check out newer spots like Avengers Campus and Tiana's Bayou Adventure, you can bring a bit of the magic and wonder into your home.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, some Disney fans, myself included, found Disney Parks ride videos on YouTube. They were made by regular park-goers, and the quality wasn't always great, but it was what we had. The nostalgia and familiarity were a way of helping us cope in a time of fear and uncertainty. It was such a small thing, but it helped immensely. Now, with these professionally filmed and edited videos Disney has made, we can feel as close to the parks as possible without spending thousands of dollars.
The rides that Disney+ included are: Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones Adventure, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Radiator Springs Racers, Incredicoaster, Pixar-Pal-Around, and Soarin' Around the World. Other attractions that have videos include: Mickey's Toon Town, Cars Land, Hollywood Land, Main Street, U.S.A., Avengers Campus, and the 70th Celebration Nighttime Spectaculars. There is even a Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance video, for all those missing that galaxy far, far away!
And, to any hardcore Disney fans that want to argue only some of these actually take place in Disneyland, you are correct. Technically, some are in California Adventure. But please don't hold that against Disney+. Let's look at it as a "the more, the merrier" situation, okay? Because, let's be honest, most of us are park hoppers in real life. Now, we can do it virtually!
You may only be able to do a staycation right now, but that doesn't mean you have to miss Disneyland's 70th anniversary. So, pull out your copycat Dole Whip recipe, make some popcorn, and sit back to experience all of the wonder and adventure of Disneyland's rides and attractions on Disney+!
