Bluey has been warming up our homes through 2024 thanks to the Heeler family's inquisitive and mischievous antics. With a movie coming in 2027 and Disney's constant rotation of episodes on their channels and Disney+, Bluey isn't going to end anytime soon, and we're appreciative of that fact, as it's a show that both adults and kids can enjoy.
As it's Christmas and the holidays, we're celebrating with these wholesome Bluey episodes, which embody the spirit and give an educational lesson in life. The latter is an essential for the Bluey storyline, whether the lessons are intentional or not.
I don't know about you, but when a kids' or an adult show incorporates educational material into its narratives, it ranks high on my list. Even The Simpsons and Family Guy have engaging and realistic plots that make the episodes more empathetic. Shows without educational margins fall flat and are left to dematerialize over the years.
To get back on track, here are the Bluey Christmas-themed episodes we're talking about so you can add them to your holiday watchlist!
These Bluey Christmas episodes are a must watch with your family
"Verandah Santa" (season 1)
In "Verandah Santa," the Heeler girls- Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks- play the game of Verandah Santa. As it's Australia, Santa doesn't go down chimneys but enters the house through the verandah, which is a porch or balcony.
As the girls get into full game mode, Socks bites Bluey, making the latter visibly upset. As a repercussion, Bluey doesn't give her baby cousin gifts as she wasn't nice. Socks is only a year old, so she doesn't understand why she lost out.
Bandit explains to Bluey that while what Socks did was wrong, her not letting her participate in the game was just as bad. After discussing with Socks why she was so upset about the biting incident, the two make up in a sweet way.
"Christmas Swim" (season 2)
When Bluey gets a new doll that she named Bartlebee for Christmas, she introduces him to her family. However, their introductions lead to minor misfortunes with Bartlebee, which upsets Bluey. Following a discussion with Uncle Rad and the now-Aunt Frisky, Bluey feels more comfortable with the scenarios.
The episode also explores more of an Australian Christmas with swimming, barbecues, and holiday crackers, a fun game in the Commonwealth and the UK.
"Jingle Bells" (minisode)
Bluey and Bingo can't wait to open their presents, and when shaking them to see what's inside, the girls get musically inclined with two updated versions of "Jingle Bells." It's an adorable venture of childhood during Christmas, and how many of us shook our gifts to get an idea of what was inside?
The animation in the clip is enchantingly gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing, which only adds to the charm.
"The Christmas Xylophone" (minisode)
In another minisode, Bluey plays "Jingle Bells" on her xylophone. Her performance is phenomenal, and her burst of joy after the accomplishment is heartwarming.
In case you didn't know, the ylophone is an Easter Egg to season one's "The Magic Xylophone."
