Citadel: Diana is a great show to watch with the older teens or with your adult friends. It’s not one for the younger members of the family. What if you want to introduce them to the spy genre?
Younger members of the family won’t necessarily have the attention span for a spy series. Instead, you want spy movies that are suitable for them, and we have three great options to get started with. They’re perfect for the whole year round.
The Spy Kids movies
We actually have a few spy movies within this franchise! The first Spy Kids sees two young kids who have no idea that their parents are spies. When they’re taken by an evil mastermind, the kids learn the truth and are thrown into a world of espionage and danger. They will do whatever it takes to save their parents, and maybe even save the world.
The franchise as a whole initially focuses on the Vega family. In later movies, we see the focus move to other kids and there is a rebooted version of the third original movie, Spy Kids: Armageddon, with Zachary Levi.
Spies in Disguise
Some children adore animated movies, and Spies in Disguise is a must-watch for them. This one follows a young man, Walter, who is everything a spy isn’t. He doesn’t have the social skills, but he does have the smarts to create inventions that the top spies can use. One of those spies is Lance Sterling.
During an expected turn of events, Lance is turned into a pigeon. Now he needs to hope that Walter can figure out how to be a spy to help him save the day and turn back to human.
Penguins of Madagascar
Do your kids love the Madagascar movies? Then they’ll love the Penguins, right? Well, it turns out the Penguins have their own spy movie. This is a must-watch with kids of all ages, and yes, there are some hilarious moments for the adults.
Skipper, Private, Rico, and Kowalski join an elite team of spies called North Wind. Their mission, when they choose to accept it, is to stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine who is ready to destroy the world. They just need to deal with Agent Classified, who is the arrogant leader of the team who doesn’t get everything right.
There are some great spy movies out there for kids of all ages. Now you just need to decide where you’ll start.
